This is actually a response to the blog - I have never been able to get live journal to let me comment there since I am not a member (and do not particularly want to become one). Have you ever seen Horrible HIstories? This is a British TV show for children which can be found on YouTube - just search Horrible Histories. You can get the DVD's through Amazon.com.uk -- and can play them on a computer. I use my desktop-- Window's media player, which simply asked me what region I needed. I told it 2 and it played them. The program is a sketch show - so there are short sketches of various historical periods, emphasizing the horrible parts of history. It is hilarious and so far as I can tell, they try very hard to be historically accurate -- to the point of correcting themselves in later sketches when they get something wrong. Your world history students might like it - my archaeology students certainly do...

Great to see you writing in these worlds again! I have always loved your fantasy books, and have never quite given up on the hope of walking by a bookstore one day and seeing the first book of the Darwath prequel-trilogy :) You dropped many hints in the Darwath trilogy as to "how it all began", but I would love to read the rest of the story of the "greatest wizard the Western world has ever known" :)

I am also curious as to whether you have considered Kickstarter or other artist-crowdfunding sites for continuing your work. They are specifically so people can support the work of artists, and you already being so successful means you have an established base of support. I'd certainly have contributed to a campaign for any of the FA stories that I'm currently buying on Amazon :)

Thank you for letting us share the stories of these characters again!

Hi Barbara!
I cannot tell you how many hours (hundreds of them, easily) I've spent over the years reading your Fantastic stories! From Antryg and Joannato Ben Janvier and Mayerling (who really reminds me a great deal of my fencing instructor at CSULB in the late 70's), to Ingold Inglorion..and on, and on. Seems I've always had a couple of your books at my elbow in the evening.

Thank you! Thank you for sharing your worlds with us, we truly appreciate it!

Thanks so much for the e stories. I downloaded 8 of them yesterday and finished them all about half an hour ago. What a treat to read new stories of Antryg,Dragonsbane, Sun Wolf, the Keep of Dare and vampires. Utter bliss. Please, please keep writing them. I will happily buy them as ebooks, books, scrolls, papyrus or stone tablets.

THANK YOU

Thanks for the Benjamin January fix! (bought 3 stories) All very good, (and a bargain honestly, a writer is entitled to fair compensation for work) but "A Time to Every Purpose" feels like it wants to be a novel...hmmm, what about it, Barbara?

I paid $5 for THAT? I loved Barbara Hambly's books, but Quest for Glory was a joke. In more ways than one. Tongue-in-cheek, but it took less than five minutes to read, and for five dollars?

I really feel ripped off. We'll see if the rest of the short books I bought are the same.

Thank you! I let my Mom read my copy and she was angry with me because she thought it would be a new novel. More please? I would happily pay $5 per release for a serialization.

Hi, Clint! You transfer them through itunes. When you have your device hooked up, click on your device icon in the itunes left column. When you click, find a menu there called apps, in the horizontal menu on the top. In the Apps menu, scroll down find a section called file sharing. Kindle is one app that allows file sharing in various formats on the ipad. PDFreader is another... I don't know what you have installed on your ipad, but try transferring them through the Kindle app, it works fine for me.

I am reading The Ninth Daughter now - it is very very good, and I am truly enjoying the characters and the great detail of colonial life. I have watched "John Adams" miniseries and this reflects the same great quality of accuracy in historical detail. I am looking forward to The Marked Man, and any other titles on this new "detective".
